One year ago today…I never met a pen who didn’t love me.
Or piece of loose leaf paper who read my mind so quick it wouldn’t have time to cut me.

Regardless of time, day, or season. It came in waves with ease.
Whatever single direction I chose, you always veered to me.

Dark nights. Cloudy days. Year round with no rewind.
The absence of your light always seemed to make you rhyme.

I tried and tried and tried but couldn’t seem to break your curse,
I cried and cried and cried until you said it came out rehearsed.

You ignored the verbs I used and the actions they never took,
and then disregarded the adjectives I spoke and said I only read about them in books.

Told me the clever imagery was simply a play on words,
took my losses at face value and never estimated their worth.

That sunny morning still so vivid when suddenly things changed;
you introduced me to a girl who shared a part of your name.

We never seem to get along ever since I met this friend;
she makes me think nothing’s wrong even when you tell me it’s just pretend.

She wouldn’t let me miss you, and gave me no reason for the sorrow.
When I longed for you today, she stayed with me until tomorrow.

The feeling is all but gone. I don’t need you and I think I don’t care.
Can we mend this with words or is the damage beyond repair?

Erasing what was left so when you hear this don’t be shocked,
but as drastic as it sounds I’m in love with Writers Block.

Happy Holidays from Baby D, Incorporated:

Some of you may know me and others may not but for those who don’t, I am the man behind Baby D, Incorporated; The Recording home of Jasmine Hormez. Most of you know me as the guy who is always yelling and never satisfied but I hope to change my reputation for the New Year. I am writing this letter Christmas Eve on board a flight from San Francisco, CA as I travel back to my home in AZ to celebrate the holidays with my friends and family.

I would first like to start by Thanking God for all of His blessings and the unconditional support that I know is always there even in times of my own personal doubt. Second I would like to thank all those who don’t get their name in lights or in the song credits but who are as important if not more important than myself. As we move into this next year with so many incredible things on the horizon, I wish to express my gratitude to all those that are part of this amazing journey. For I realize now that I am only as strong as the people I surround myself with and I am glad to have each and every one of you on board.

There are many people behind the scenes that Jasmine’s fans don’t know about but I would like to thank them each here personally…(these are in no particular order)

Baby D: my first niece, an amazing little girl and my boss!

Mario Velez: for his amazing choreography, tireless dedication to helping make an amazing stage show.

Laura Hunter: for helping develop Jasmines voice into the Angelic creature it has become.

Jason Levine: an engineer and a friend for making Jasmine comfortable in the recording booth.

Steve Baughman: incredible mix engineer responsible for sonic greatness.

Dylan Dresdow: master engineer for a finished product that rivals anyone in the business.

Chris Thomas: dancing, dedication, always being down for the cause.

Nikole Stahl: dancing, choreography, and putting up with me and helping Jasmine grow onstage.

Bridig benson: Dancing, dedication and always bringing positive energy.

Sarah Muahlim: Dancing, even in sickness and exhaustion, always shows up.

Brittany Hanish: dancing and dedicated new member of the team.

Ricky Maloof: Dancing, and always making us laugh.

Steven Prevatt: Fantastic video work that helps take this project to another level.

Sargon “Deuce” Benjamin: being a friend, co-producer and a wizard on the keyboard.

Billy Schleifer: being a badass guitar player, producer and all around good guy.

Adam Bayaa: friend, business partner, musician, someone who always believed and still does.

Ali Erakat: confidant through good and bad times. He knows nothing about music but everything about life.

Nastassia Vulaj: friend, publicist, wack filter, fellow Jay-z Groupie.

Manish Mamnani: being a friend who believes and giving me unlimited resources to create an amazing brand.

Jenna Hopkins: being an incredible designer and always helping when I need a hand with jasmines website.

Arnold Guerrero: Graphic artist that makes this project come to life.

Lad Makinde: for the introduction to the girl who changed my life.

Leslie & Ralph Seligmann: My 2^nd set of parents who are always there for my family and I.

Mama Z: unconditional love, support, guidance, and always believing in me.

Sha Money XL: going out of his way to help a friend in any possible way without expecting anything in return.

Dave Tamaroff: for taking a meeting and always getting me cool concert tickets.

Makisha Scott: for digital pr work that has made a great impact in a short time.

There are many more friends and family I should thank cause without their support, I would not be where I am today. You guys know who you are (najla, susu, nick, jenna, sommer, wade, samiha, sam, meme, ramzi, sal)…There are also some people I would love to thank for motivating me even more by telling me one thing and doing another. (Shani, Naim, Damon, and any other label exec that thinks their time is much more valuable than it actually is)

In closing the person I want to thank most is JASMINE HORMEZ for being the amazing artist and person that she is. She is a real inspiration to me and I thank God every single day for meeting her and giving me the passion to follow my dream. I cannot wait until we can see our dreams come to a reality and share them. As I wrap this up, I pray you guys are all as excited as I am for the New Year and the future.
